Starting with the 6.0 Release Candidate, AppInsight for SQL will consume a fixed, 50 component monitor licenses per SQL instance regardless of the number of databases running on the SQL server. This is actually far fewer than the actual number of components being monitored by AppInsight; even for a SQL server that's hosting just a single database.
