Remote pollers and syslog/snmp relay

I have a few questions.

1) Can the remote poller accept syslog and snmp traps which relay to the central NPM box for alerting and event notification?

          Example: My Cisco router logging and snmp traps are pointed at the remote poller.   Is there anything special I need to do on the remote poller to forward this traffic?

2) If so how do you set that up, its not clear in the NPM Administrator guide.  Thanks for any help you can provide.
