So really, if I have my router syslog and traps pointed at my remote poller, I should see those messages appear in syslog viewer and snmp trap viewer then. So that makes sense. I wasn't clear if it did in fact work this way and now I am. And BTW I did confirm the services are running as you suggested, thanks forgot to check that 
. Ill do some more testing to see why Im not getting traps or syslog in my vierwer. During my network captures I see the syslog message arriving at the remote poller but it doesnt show up in the syslog viewer at all, hence why I asked if I needed to do anything additional to "turn it on" Thanks Richard!
