Re: Remote WMI. Perfmon can see the class, but it's missing from wbemtest/SAM.

I have tried both the Component Monitor Wizard, which never brings back the NV class, everything else, but not the Nvidia metrics.

The Windows Performance Counter Monitor returns the lovely error: Invalid value '' for parameter 'categoryName'

A quick Google (other search engines are available) led me rather quickly to this stackoverflow post, which has the wonderfull resolution of:

           [I] Had the same problem.

This was on a machine that had an NVidia Quadro 2000 card.

Uninstalling the "NVidia WMI" product solved the issue...

He was smiling about the solution, where as that's the exact data we're after.

And our boxes have the Nvidia Quadro K4000 cards.

I have however discovered though that I can get to the data remotely (from my SolarWinds box) using wbemtest, if I expressly define the class as \\servername\root\cimv2\nv.

It turns out they ARE visible from cimv2, but they were very well hidden (a couldn't see the woods for trees situation).

But I still cannot get it from my SolarWinds SAM component/counter monitors.

I've posted it up on to the Nvidia forums as well, but not even a sniff of resolution. I don't think there are many people interested in harvesting Nvidia GPU metrics.

Any ideas?
