Hi Scott,
Yes, you can add vm.name (or host.name or cluster.name) to the Search Query in "Scope" of the Alert Definition to only alert on certain machines. VMan is very powerful in allowing you to define those ranges.
For each of the groups, you can then setup email addresses in the EmailTo field:
